Wiley W. Heatwole Obituary (1931 - 2014)

Wiley W. Heatwole, 82 Wiley Wilson Heatwole, 82, a resident of Harrisonburg, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014 at his home. Mr. Heatwole was born on October 27, 1931 in Rockingham county and was the son of the late Earl Peter and Ruby Primrose Hilbert Heatwole. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. In early years he worked for B. Neys and Bowman Bag Company. He later worked for Harrisonburg Farm Bureau in the ProCal division for twenty five years. Mr. Heatwole loved and cared deeply for his entire family. He was a member of the First Church of the Brethren in Harrisonburg. On December 12, 1952 he married the love of his life, the former Margie Minnick who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Vivian Heatwole Myers of Staunton; LaVonne Heatwole Crist of Harrisonburg; two sisters, Linda Heatwole Hammer and husband Lee of Keezletown; Beverly Heatwole Weatherly of Richmond; two granddaughters, Mollie Crist and Abby Crist. Reverend Clarence Moyers will conduct a funeral service on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with military rites by the American Legion Post 27. The family will receive friends on Monday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.mcmullenfh.com.
