Wendell Beachy

Wendell Ellwood Beachy, 83, a resident of Rockingham, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at his home.

Mr. Beachy was born on May 9, 1943, in Meyersdale, PA, to the late McKinley Carl and Mary Rebecca Shank Beachy. He worked as a dairy farmer from 1962-1989 and at Superior Concrete from 1964-1979 before retiring from Sharp Shopper in 2014. He was a member of Ridgeway Mennonite Church.

On June 1, 1962, he married Iva Rodes Beachy, who preceded him in death on October 16, 2015. On April 1, 2017, he married Ruby Rodes, who survives.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Beachy is survived by his children, Donna Marie Golden and husband David of Berlin, OH, Jill Elaine LaPrevotte and husband Paul of Stuarts Draft, VA; his chosen brother, David Rothwell; grandchildren, Joshua LaPrevotte, Wesley LaPrevotte and wife Kelli, Dana McWilliams and husband Jason; and great-grandchildren, Kristopher Galenis, Annaliese LaPrevotte, Conor McWilliams, Isla McWilliams.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Ridgeway Mennonite Church with Pastors Chad Miller and Ben Risser officiating. The family will receive friends before the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A private burial service will be held for the family at Pike Mennonite Church.
