Utah L. Orebaugh Obituary (1928 - 2014)

Utah Lake Orebaugh, 85 Utah Lake Orebaugh, 85, a resident of Harrisonburg, passed away on March 3, 2014 at Avante Nursing Home. Mr. Orebaugh was born on May 5, 1928 in Harrisonburg, Virginia and was the son of the Walter and Roxie Whitmore Orebaugh. He served in the Navy during WWII. He was stationed at Great Lakes, Illinois. He was employed by DuPont for 36 years. He loved traveling, camping and watching NASCAR. He was a member of the First Church of the Brethren in Harrisonburg. In 1956, he married Naomi F. Orebaugh who survives. Also surviving is step-son, William "Sonny" Smiley and wife Susie of Harrisonburg; a brother, Warren Orebaugh of Chesapeake; a step-granddaughter, Shelia Lam and husband Corey; three step great grandchildren, Preston Lam and wife Emilee, Dakota Lam and Sierra Lam; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Orebaugh was preceded in death by three sisters, Willanna Kramer, Erma Wilfong and Eva Huffman. Reverend Beth Jarrett and Reverend Dr. J.D. Glick will conduct a funeral service at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with military rites by the American Legion VFW Post 27.
