Susan Fox

–

Timberville, Virginia

Susan Annette Ryman Fox, 61, a resident of Timberville, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026 at her home.

Mrs. Fox was born on January 23, 1965 in Harrisonburg and was a daughter of Cecil Eugene and Wilma Fifer Ryman, who survive.

Susan retired from Rockingham County after lovingly teaching third grade for 33 years at Fulks Run Elementary School, where she touched countless young lives with patience, kindness, and dedication. Outside the classroom, she found joy in quiet walks through the country, playing her piano, working jigsaw puzzles, and tending her beautiful flower gardens. She also shared her love of music by giving piano lessons and generously served her community as a judge for art exhibits at the Bergton Fair.

Above all, Susan loved her family deeply. She was a devoted wife, a caring and faithful mother, and a cherished grandmother, who found her greatest joy in time spent with those she loved, especially during treasured family vacations to the beach. Susan knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior and lived her faith daily as a devoted member of Cedar Run Church of the Brethren. As a pastor’s wife, she served the church with a humble and willing heart, offering her time, talents, and love in countless meaningful ways.

She is also survived by her husband, Ken Fox; children, Holly Jobe and husband Jacob, Andrew Fox and girlfriend, Brenna; siblings, David Ryman and wife Tina, Beth Hinegardner and husband Scott; grandchildren, Christian, Luke, and Addie Jobe; nieces and nephews, Sydney, Brynn, Jamie, Jay, Paige, Kim, Dennis; great niece Alison; and her beloved dog, “Chloe”.

Those wishing to sign the register book are welcome to do so on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The casket will be closed, and family members will be present at various times throughout the afternoon and evening. Burial will be held privately at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery with Pastors Karl Magenhofer and Kevin Daggett officiating.

An informal Celebration of Life service will be March 7 at 2:00 pm at the Fulks Run Elementary School with Pastors Karl Magenhofer and Kevin Daggett officiating. We encourage you to wear your Fulks Run Cardinals attire as we gather together to Celebrate Mrs. Fox in a place she loved.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the following places for their excellent and compassionate care of Susan during her illness: UVA Health, Sentara RMH Hahn Cancer Center, Sentara RMH Hospice, Dr. Delmar Martin at Valley Health, Blue Ridge Urology and the Emily Couric Cancer Center.
