Shirley Reubush

Shirley Bailey Reubush, 89, a resident of Rockingham, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025 at Sentara RMH Medical Center.

Mrs. Reubush was born on July 17, 1935 in Mt. Clinton and was a daughter of the late Charles Lloyd and Reva Zola Fadeley Bailey. Shirley worked for Mt. Clinton School, Dunham-Busch, Mt. Clinton Cannery, the Ordan Harman Poultry Farm in Timberville, and the Pig Pen Restaurant in Timberville. She was a member of Mt. Clinton United Methodist Church but had attended Cherry Grove United Methodist Church for many years.

On June 20, 1954, she married Glenwood Hartman Reubush who preceded her in death on March 25, 2021.

Surviving are her two daughters, Pamela Smith and husband Kirby of Rockingham, Kay Whetzel and husband Duane of Triangle; brother, Wayne Bailey and wife Frances of Rockingham; sister-in-law, Theresa Bailey of Rockingham; grandchildren, Kelly Royston (Bubby), Josh Shipp (Angel), Wendy Weaver, Lora Chasles (Adam), Ornan Whetzel (Trish) ; great-grandchildren, Tanner Royston, Logan Royston, Dacian Shipp, Zola Shipp, Brandon Weaver, Catherine Weaver, Adriana Green, Autumn Jones, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Reubush was preceded in death by a brother, Carlton Bailey; nephew, Todd Bailey; and a step-grandson, Brady Royston.

Pastor Karl Magenhofer will conduct a funeral service on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Cherry Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, January 9, 2025 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
