Ruth E. Pequignot, 95

Ruth Ellen Pequignot, 95, a resident of Harrisonburg, went to her eternal Home on January 20, 2014 surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Pequignot was born on October 30, 1918 in Arnot, Pennsylvania and was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Ethel Jones.
Ruth graduated high school at 14 as the valedictorian of her class and attended Indiana Normal School in Indiana, Pennsylvania She retired from a radio station as the business manager for 32 years. She was active throughout her life in numerous organizations; Eastern Star, Amaranth, Rebekahs, Degree of Honor. She was a present member of Cooks Creek Presbyterian Church in Harrisonburg and past member of Graystone Presbyterian Church in Indiana, Pennsylvania. She was a very special lady and she was loved by all who knew her
Ruth is survived by a son, William A. Pequignot and wife Patricia of Harrisonburg; grandchildren, Tammy Price and husband Don of Charles Town, West Virginia; Jessica Smith and husband Chris of Arlington; Adam Pequignot and wife Autumn of Harrisonburg; seven great grandchildren, Nicholas, Jeffrey, Daniel, Addison, Mackenzie, Sebastian and Mara and a special friend, Dawn Hinde.
Ruth was preceded in death by her former husband, William Pequignot; a daughter Ellen Pierce; a great granddaughter Juliet Grace Smith; and two brothers, Donald Jones and Robert Jones.
Reverend George Evans will conduct a memorial service on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Cooks Creek Presbyterian Church. Burial will be held at a later date at Oakland Cemetery in Indiana, Pennsylvania.
At her request, the body was cremated.
