Russell C. Stroop, 88

Russell Charles Stroop, 88, a resident of Keezletown, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Avante Nursing Home.
Mr. Stroop was born on June 9, 1929 in Rockingham County and was the son of the late Lester and Rebecca Griffith Stroop. He was employed by Metro Pants, H.D. Lee and retired from Sancar.
Surviving are two sons, Rodney Stroop and wife Joyce of Keezletown, Eddie Stroop and wife Beverly of Florida; his siblings, Ruel Lee Stroop and Maxine Perry both of Harrisonburg; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Stroop was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Williams.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 1 p.m. Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with Sandra Cave officiating.
The casket will be closed, and there will be no formal visitation, however friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.
