Roy Lee Ritchie

Roy Lee Ritchie, 88 Harrisonburg Roy Lee Ritchie, 88, died Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Crestwood at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community. Mr. Ritchie was born on June 16, 1921 in Dayton and was the son of the late George Samuel and Ollie Revercomb Ritchie. He was a lifelong poultry and beef farmer who enjoyed singing and playing music. He was a member of Muhlenberg Lutheran Church. In 1945, he married the former Evelyn Branner who preceded him in death in August 2005. Surviving are one son, Alan Ritchie and wife Marianne of Harrisonburg; one brother Olen Ritchie and wife Margaret of Dayton; three grandchildren, Tamara Moore and husband David, Rebecca Ritchie, and Denay True and husband Benjamin; and four grandchildren, Julia, James, Joshua and Jonathan Moore. A memorial service will be conducted, Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Strite Auditorium at the Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community. Burial will be held prior at 1:00 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the McMullen Funeral Home anytime beginning Sunday afternoon.
