Rosie Lee Hoover Obituary (1933 - 2014)

Rosie L. Hoover, 81 Rosie Lee Hoover, 81, a resident of Harrisonburg, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Hoover was born on June 26, 1933 in New Market and was the daughter of the late Joseph Carl Strickler and Selma Lee Knupp Earman. She loved her flower and vegetable gardens. She was a member of the Free Pentecostal Church. On November 24, 1952, she married Lester L. Hoover who preceded her in death on January 10, 1988. Surviving are three children, Judith "Judy" Kile and husband David Sr., William Hoover and wife Catherine "Cathy" Hoover, Jeffrey "Jeff" Hoover and wife Lisa; five sisters, Gardenia Cook, Martha Grace Hinkle, Lena Mae Thacker, Bonnie Hottinger, and Donna McCauley; two brothers, Kiser Strickler and Carl Strickler; five grandchildren, David Kile, Jr.; Timothy Kile and wife Carrie; Melinda Hawley and husband Jonathan; Jesse Hoover, Joe Hoover and wife Jodie; four great grandchildren, Carrieada Paddy, Mason Kile, Ellen Kile and Luke Hoover. A number of brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Reverend David Kile Sr. will conduct a funeral service at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday morning, November 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Clinton Cemetery.
