Rita Myers

It is with profound sadness that I share the passing of my beloved mother, Rita Fay Myers who left us peacefully on August 9, 2025 surrounded by her family.

Rita was born on May 8, 1946 to the late Alfred Lynn and Verdie Claire Knight of Rockingham County. Rita was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Rita loved spending time shopping, cooking, going to lawn party’s and just enjoying time with her family.

On July 12, 1975, Rita married Carroll Lloyd Myers who preceded her in death on November 23, 2020.

Surviving is a son, Timothy Myers and companion Jessica Peacher of Verona; grandson, Andrew Myers; niece, Linda Corbin and husband Charles; nephew, Alfred Dale Eppard; great-niece Amber Rivera and husband Luis; and a great nephew, Dustin Corbin.

In addition to her husband and parents, Rita was preceded in death by three sisters, Mamie Knight, Margaret Eppard, Margie Knight; and two brothers, Lawrence Knight and Ervin Knight.

Pastor Michael Fallin will conduct a graveside service on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Horeb Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
