Richard G. Hahn

Richard G. Hahn Singers Glen Richard Graham Hahn, 71, Singers Glen, passed away in his sleep on Wednesday, September 14. He was born in New York City on December 23, 1939 and was the oldest son of Waldemar and Zita von Ters Hahn who preceded him in death. He grew up in Tarrytown, New York and he married Mary M. Biebrier on October 15, 1960 in Mill Valley, California. In addition to his wife he is survived by five sons, Peter Hahn and wife Tina; Robert Hahn and wife Ambi; Patrick Hahn and wife Mary; Timothy Hahn and Matthew Hahn and wife Claire; two brothers, Robert Hahn and Kim Hahn; fifteen grandsons, and three great grandchildren. He resided in Singers Glen for the past 35 years. He graduated from Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Massachusetts and attended Gettysburg College and he received a degree from Madison College. Upon graduation, he went to work for the Harrisonburg City Schools where he taught for 35 years. He was happiest when he was making a difference in the lives of his students. A memorial service will be held at the Old Salem log church at Donovan Memorial Church in Singers Glen Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 4p.m. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service. The body was cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make contributions in his memory to Mary Hahn, earmarked for a Second Chance College Scholarship, to be made to a child to assist with college expenses, 10268 Frank Lane, Singers Glen, VA 22850.
