Rhea Hartman

Rhea Joan Hartman, 93, a resident of Harrisonburg, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025 at Crestwood of VMRC.

Rhea was born on March 5, 1932 in Rockingham County and was a daughter of the late Daniel Jacob and Lena Good Hartman. She was employed by VMRC and later lived there for many years. She was a member of Park View Mennonite Church.

Surviving is a sister, Geraldine Hartman Ebersole of Lancaster; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Rhea was preceded in death by her siblings, Dwight Hartman, Brownie Hartman Bumbaugh, Raymond Carroll Hartman, Evelyn H. Wenger, Ewell D. Hartman, and Ralph Hartman.

Rhea enjoyed playing the piano and embroidering, along with studying many Bible verses which is very evident in her well worn Bible.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at the Strite Auditorium at VMRC at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VMRC Compassion Fund, 1491 Virginia Avenue, Harrisonburg, VA 22802.
