Phyllis Alma (Shelton) Croy Obituary (1935 - 2016)

Phyllis Alma (Shelton) Croy, 80, of Linville, passed away on Friday February 12, 2016. Mrs. Croy was born on October 19, 1935 in Newfane, New York and was a daughter of the late Donald James and Helen Irene (Fitzgerald) Shelton. Phyllis worked as a bank teller for many years prior to her retirement. In her retirement she worked at the After School and summer activity program at Lacey Springs School. She was a very active member of the Bridgewater Baptist Church where she was a deacon, taught Sunday school, and served on several committees. Phyllis also enjoyed playing bingo, going to yard sales, and taking bus trips. On August 15, 1959 she married Eddie Howard Croy, who preceded her in death on October 14, 1995. Phyllis is survived by her sons, Robert Croy and wife Tianna of Linville, David Croy of Lacey Springs, Steven Croy and fiance Sherry Reed of Melrose; siblings, Donald Shelton and wife Barbara of Jupiter, FL, Mary Jane Roskopf of Lockport, NY, Carol Pennesi of Niagara Falls, NY; grandchildren, Andrew Croy and wife Denise, Kaylee Croy; step-grandchildren, Casey and Justin Reed; brother-in-law, Freddie Croy and wife Betty; numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved dogs "Bandit" and "Snickers". A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home with Revs. Kelly Lane and Roger Austin officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home. Friends and family are also welcome to call at Phyllis' home at any time. The casket will remain closed.
