Otho F. Kephart

Otho F. Kephart, 86 Otho Franklin Kephart, 86, a resident of Harrisonburg passed away on March 1, 2012 at his home. Mr. Kephart was born on May 10, 1925 in Rockingham County and was the son of the late Thomas and Ida Knicely Kephart. Mr. Kephart was raised by the late J. Earl and Anna Funk. He was employed by Sysco for 60 years, retiring in 1987 and continued working there until 2008. He was a member of Singers Glen Baptist Church. On March 21, 1954, he married the former Lois Jean Comer who survives. Also surviving are five children, Boyd Kephart and wife Lydia of Mayland; Kenny Kephart and wife Paula of Oklahoma; David Kephart and wife Linda of Lacey Springs; Karen Taylor and husband Mark of Harrisonburg; Sharon Bare and companion Roy Stroop of Linville; four grandchildren, Kristy Fink and husband Stephen, Lori Norquest, Jennifer Wimer and husband Aaron, Stephanie Baker and husband Jason; and six great grandchildren. Mr. Kephart was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Pastor Paul Glovier will conduct a funeral service on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisonburg. A private burial will follow at Linville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
