Normand Richard Meny Obituary (1946 - 2013)

Normand R. Meny 66, Harrisonburg Normand Richard Meny, 66, died July 12, 2013 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Meny was born on November 5, 1946, in New Bedford, Massachusetts and was the son of the late Normand and Rolande Laurendeau Meny. Mr. Meny served in the United States Navy. He worked had worked for Kmart and later in food service at James Madison University. He also volunteered for the PTA at Stone Spring Elementary School. On February 8, 1969, he married the former Susan Diane Prudhomme who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Brian M. Meny and wife Charlene, Herndon; a daughter Lisa M. Harvey and husband Bruce, Harrisonburg; a brother-in-law, Hector D'Souza, Dedham, MA; three grandchildren, Alexis Fitzgerald, Dakota Meny and Ethan Meny. Mr. Meny was preceded in death by a sister, Irene D'Souza. Reverend David Burch will conduct a memorial service at the Vision of Hope Church, Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 2p.m. The family will receive friends following the memorial service. There will be no formal viewing at the funeral home as the body was cremated.
