Nelson Linwood Rhodes, Jr. Obituary (1959 - 2016)

Nelson Linwood Rhodes, 57, of Dayton, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2016 at the Harrisonburg Health and Rehabilitation Center where he had been a patient for a month. He had been in failing health for many years. He was born September 28, 1959 to the late Nelson Rhodes, Sr. and Zelda Huffman Rhodes. He was a member of the Dayton Brethren Church. As a young man, he enjoyed camping and boating and always loved music. He was well loved and cared for; and will be very missed by his family. Besides his mother, he is survived by his sisters Kathy Hornick, Sandra Collins, and Susanne Trobaugh; nieces Angel Joseph-Delawder and Randi Clark; nephews Luke Hornick, Charles Joseph, Jr., and Justin Collins; great-nieces Abigail Delawder and Carly Joseph; great-nephews Chad Joseph, Cevaun Jones and Tristan Clark; great great-nephew and niece Ayden and Adalynn Joseph; brothers-in-law Elwood Hornick and Roger Trobaugh. Preceding him in death, besides his father, are nephews John Hornick and Will Ellis and a great-niece Grace Hornick. The visitation will be at McMullen Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, November 29, 2016, from 5-6 p.m. The funeral will be held at McMullen Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 with Pastor Wayne Wright officiating.
