Nelson "Sam" Adolph Hensley Obituary (1920

Nelson Adolph "Sam" Hensley, 97, a resident of Bridgewater, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018 at the home of his daughter. Mr. Hensley was born on October 20, 1920 in Rockingham County and was the son of the late John Andrew and Victoria Harriet Shifflett Hensley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hensley. Surviving are his children, Sam Hensley, Rhoda Jones, Carol Smith and husband Charlie, Theresa Simmons and husband Frank, Barbara Hensley; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters. A graveside service will be held on Monday morning, February 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McGaheysville, with Pastor Wayne Wright officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. or at the home of any of his children.
