Nancy E. Pennington, 79

Nancy Eye Pennington, 79, a resident of Dayton, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Sentara RMH Medical Center.

One of thirteen children, Mrs. Pennington was born on July 20, 1936 in the original family log house near Rawley Springs and was the daughter of the late Roy and Bessie Payne Eye. She was employed by Sancar and later several meat processing plants. She was a member of the Spring Creek Church of the Nazarene.

On July 30, 1955, she married Norman Pennington who preceded her in death on June 23, 2013.

Surviving are her four children, Terry Pennington and wife Loretta; N. Dale Pennington all of Dayton; Colin Pennington and wife Sue of Bridgewater; Greta Templin and husband Michael of Penn Laird; siblings, Reba Simmons of Hinton; Polly Lambert and husband Wilbert of Bridgewater; Sylvia Wheelbarger of Dayton; Betty Horan and husband Bob of Franklin, WV; Billy Eye and friend Monica of Harrisonburg; eight grandchildren, Rebecca Fritzinger and husband Jared, Stefanie Pennington, Alyssa Hosler and husband Zach, Maria Pennington, Rachel Pennington, Jay Pennington, Airelle Templin and Aaron Templin.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pennington was preceded in death by her siblings; Donna Eye, Mary Kagey, Lillie Simon, Berlin Eye, David Eye, Richard Eye and Everette Eye.

Wendell "Sonny" Henkel will conduct a graveside service on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Clinton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening at McMullen Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clover Hill Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, 2100 Clover Hill Road, Dayton, Virginia 22821.
