Katherine Brooks Obituary (1953 - 2013)

Katherine B. Brooks, 59 Katherine Boyd Brooks, 59, a resident of Fulks Run, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Brooks was born on March 24, 1953 in Goldsboro, North Carolina and was the daughter of Reinetta Morris Boyd of Fulks Run and the late James Boyd. She worked for Wampler Foods and Pilgrim's Pride in Hinton for twenty five years. On August 24, 1976, she married Tommy Brooks who survives. Also surviving is a son, Tommy Brooks, Jr. and wife Dorrinda of Briery Branch; three grandchildren, Hailey Davis, Shelby Davis, Delaney Brooks; a sister, Kaye Andrews and husband Mark of Mt. Clinton; two brothers, James "Jimmy" Boyd, Jr. and wife Glenda of Harrisonburg; Bobby Boyd and wife Gina of Fulks Run; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pastor Laney Knight and Bishop Michael Fallin will conduct a funeral service at Gospel Hill Mennonite Church on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening at the McMullen Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rockingham Memorial Hospital, Hahn Cancer Center, 2010 Health Campus Drive, Harrisonburg, Virginia 22801.
