Meda E. Hampt

Meda E. Hampt, 90 Harrisonburg Meda Elizabeth Hummel Hampt, 90, died Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Willow Estates Retirement Home. Mrs. Hampt was born on February 12, 1920 in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Jasper Newton Hummel and Minnie Elizabeth Wichael Hummel Miller. She was a child care provider and a homemaker. On October 28, 1967, she married Russell Hampt who survives. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Rhonda Stefura of Harrisonburg and Susan Stefura of Dayton; a great-grandson, Wade A. Hoover of Dayton; four step-sons, Larry Hampt of Pennsylvania, Carl Hampt and Dennis Hampt both of Maryland, Douglas Hampt of Florida. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Hampt was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Stefura Koogler, a step-son, Richard Hampt, and eight brothers and sisters. Pastor Ken Dolan will conduct a graveside service on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rockingham Memorial Hospital Regional Cancer Center, 100 East Grace Street, Harrisonburg, Va. 22801.
