Margaret E. Ritchie

Margaret C. Ritchie, 86 Margaret Cline Ritchie, 86, a resident of Dayton, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Ritchie was born on November 19, 1925 in Mount Clinton and was the daughter of the late Dewitt T. and Nora Showalter Cline. She was a graduate of Mount Clinton High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Dayton United Methodist Church. On September 14, 1946, she married Olin Ritchie who survives. Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters, Linda Covington of Harrisonburg; Alice Shewey and husband John of Buena Vista; Patricia Evans and husband Mark of Harrisonburg; a son, Leon Ritchie and wife Peggy of Williamsburg; three brothers, Stanley Cline of Lynchburg; Richard Cline and Frank Cline both of Harrisonburg; and three granddaughters, Heather Ritchie, Page Shewey, and Laura Shewey. Mrs. Ritchie was preceded in death by a son; Kenneth Ritchie, a grandson Bryan Covington; two sisters, Dale Shiflet and Fannie Jane Myers; and four brothers, Marian Cline, Bill Cline, Amos Cline and Andy Cline. Reverend Steve Bird will conduct a funeral service on Wednesday morning, April 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Horeb Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
