Lynne Wilkins George Obituary (1963 - 2014)

Lynne W. George, 50 Harrisonburg Lynne W. George, 50, of Harrisonburg passed away August 21, 2014 at the home of her parents. She was born on September 1, 1963 and was the daughter of Thane K. and Evelyn Ritchie Wilkins of Harrisonburg. She grew up near Edom and graduated from Broadway High School. Lynne worked in retail for many years. For the past 8 years she was employed as customer service and accounting supervisor at Kroger. She was devoted to her family and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. On June 17, 1989, Lynne and Noah F. George were married at Edom United Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to her parents and husband are a son, Shawn Keith George and a daughter, Nicole Lynne George both of Harrisonburg; a step-son, Shane Corey George and wife, Megan, Raphine, VA; a sister, Robin Goble and husband Micheal, Harrisonburg; a nephew, Adam Goble, a niece, Elizabeth Goble, grandchildren, Cordia George and Ty Daniel George and a step-grandmother, Evelyn K. Ritchie. She was preceded in death by an infant twin sister, Lisa Ann Wilkins; her grandparents, Arnold D. and Ruth T. Wilkins and Virgil D. Ritchie and Charlotte F. McDowell; and special aunt and uncle Viola R. and Preston L. Sager. Rev. Marlene Chandler will conduct a funeral service Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 2p.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Grove Cemetery in Fulks Run. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7p.m. until 8p.m. at the funeral home.
