Luella Ann Stover Obituary (1939 - 2014)

Luella A. Stover, 75, of Hinton died February 13, 2014 at Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Stover was born January 19, 1939 in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Claude S. McDorman and Iva Crawford. Mrs. Stover attended Turner Ashby High School and was a member of the first graduating class. She took great pride in her gardening and yard work. Mrs. Stover adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with and caring for them. She attended the Salvation Army Corp in Harrisonburg. On December 31, 1956 she married Robert L. Stover who survives. Also surviving are a daughter Lisa Hinegardner and husband David of Woodstock and a son Tony L. Stover and wife Deanna of Clover Hill, two sisters Helen Allen of Harrisonburg and Josephine Miller and husband Charles (Monk) of Hinton; three grandchildren Chad Stover and wife Whitney, Brittni Stover Shiflet and husband Clay and Breaunna (Brea) Hinegardner; five Great-Grandchildren Carter and Reid Stover, Kennedy, Berkley and Ellington Shiflet and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stover was preceded in death by a brother, Marion McDorman. Lieutenant Colonel Charles White and Captain Duane Burleigh will conduct a funeral service Monday, February 17, 2014 at 11a.m. at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Clover Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening 6p.m. until 8p.m. at the funeral home. Friends are also welcome to call at the family home in Hinton at any time. The casket will be closed.
