Leonard Moyers

Leonard Paul Moyers, 87, a resident of Rockingham, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at his home.

Mr. Moyers was born on July 11, 1939 in Singers Glen and was a son of the late Raleigh Emmert and Ivy Mae Dingledine Moyers. Leonard worked as a supervisor at Shenandoah Manufacturing for 42 years. He loved bluegrass music, spending time in his yard and garden, time spent with his family and never missed a lawn party or fair. He was a member of Donovan Memorial United Methodist Church.

On May 5, 1965, he married Jane Kingree Moyers who preceded him in death on August 23, 2021.

Surviving his close friends, Kristin Harter, Buck Meadows; his family dogs, “Ricky” and “Reesey” ; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Moyers was preceded in death by his siblings, Nina Sager, Vada Simmons, Dorothy Moyers, Bruce Moyers, Chester Moyers, Ralph Moyers and Everett Moyers.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026 at Singers Glen Cemetery at 2 p.m. with Reverend Debra Lucas and Pastor Dee Flory.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so on Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
