Lendis M. Shifflett Obituary (1937 - 2012)

Lendis Marie Shifflett, 76 Lendis Marie Shifflett, 76, a resident of Linville, passed away on March 9, 2012. Mrs. Shifflett was born on April 28, 1937 in Mathias, West Virginia and was the daughter of the late Elmer and Claire Zirk Mongold. She retired from the cannery at National Fruit and enjoyed gardening. On November 1, 1958 she married Raymond N. Shifflett who preceded her in death on December 31, 2010. Surviving is a daughter, Bonnie Layman and husband Eugene of Broadway; brothers and sisters, Treva Mongold, Mary Fitzwater, Elmer Mongold, Jr., Wilbert Mongold all of Timberville; Louise Vaugh; Lucy Good, both of Broadway; Garnett Mongold of Mathias; and a grandson, Shannon Layman of Broadway. Mrs. Shifflett was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters. Friends may call at the McMullen Funeral Home anytime on Tuesday. Funeral services will be private.
