Linville, Virginia
Kevin Scott Landes, 55, a resident of Linville, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at his home.
Kevin was born on July 1, 1970 in Rockingham County and was a son of Lois Ritchie Landes and the late J. Steve Landes. He attended Broadway High School and Massanutten Technical Center where he met the love of his life, Tina. A devoted husband, father and papa, Kevin cared deeply for his family and considered his most cherished moments the ones spent with them. Everyone who knew Kevin knew he was always looking out for others and most often put others before himself.
Kevin worked at Ray Carr Tire, Transprint USA, The City of Harrisonburg, and most recently for James Madison University. While working full time at JMU, he was also a full time farmer raising beef cattle and show goats. Kevin established Landes Farms and grew its reputation for producing the highest quality show goats in the showing community. Kevin served as a highly respected mentor to countless youth both near and far. Both Kevin and Tina cherished their relationship with the youth and their families who obtained goats from Landes Farms. Kevin always had wisdom to share and that knowledge lives on in all of the lives he touched. When he wasn’t farming, Kevin enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his beloved family.
On February 25, 1989, he married the former Tina Marie Morris who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Timothy “Timmy” Landes and wife Katie of New Market, Nichole Renee Landes and significant other Hunter Booth of Sugar Grove, WV; grandchildren, Riley Scott Landes, Sadie Grace Landes; siblings, Steve Landes, Cindy Wilder and husband Jason; mother-in-law, Betty Morris; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
In addition to his father, Kevin was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Daniel Morris; grandparents, Maurice and Frances Ritchie, Amby Landes, Donna Landes Casidy; and his step-grandfather, Boward Casidy.
