Joesph "Joe" Glick Obituary (1936 - 2014)

Joseph (Joe) S. Glick, 77 Harrisonburg Joseph (Joe) S. Glick, 77, Harrisonburg passed away March 23, 2014 at his home. Mr. Glick was born on September 29, 1936 in Rockingham County and was the son of the late Marvin Fred Glick and Ida Belle Armentrout Glick Schroeder. Mr. Glick retired from Rocco in 1997. He enjoyed raising chickens and loved to mow his yard. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed vacationing, camping and family trips. Mr. Glick and his wife worked the ticket gate for Turner Ashby High School for many years. He was a member of the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church and has served as a trustee of the church and the cemetery association. On September 25, 1959, he married the former Elizabeth (Betty) Wilfong who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Elizabeth (Michael) Soteriou, Springfield, VA; Tammy (Mitch) Propst ; Karen (Tony) Kennedy all of Harrisonburg; three sisters, Frances Trobaugh, Harrisonburg; Dorothy Simmers, Mt. Crawford; and Lois Welch, Oklahoma City; two brothers, Philip (Andy) Glick, Harrisonburg and David Glick, Bridgewater; five grandchildren, Tara Kennedy, Victoria Propst, Mitchell Propst Jr, Neoclis Soteriou and Maria Soteriou and great granddaughter, Kaila Breeden. Preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Glick and Larry Glick. Rev. Valerie Ritter will conduct a funeral service on Friday morning at 11a.m. at the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6p.m. until 8p.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home, Harrisonburg.
