John Lawrence (Larry) Tapscott

John Lawrence (Larry) Tapscott, 55, was born on November 29th, 1958 in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated from Washington and Lee High School in Montross, VA. Larry went on to work for NSWC at Dahlgren, VA. In 2012 he retired from NSWC after 30 years of service. Larry also worked for Friendship Industries in Harrisonburg, VA. He was a loyal member of the Mt. Clinton Church of God. Larry was also an avid NASCAR fan, Baltimore Orioles, and Ravens fan.
Larry is survived by two sisters, Selma Plaskett, of Oldhams, VA; Tina Fallin, and husband Rev. Michael T. Fallin, of Harrisonburg, VA; a nephew, Michael Andrew Fallin and wife Courtney. He is also survived by a great niece, Madison Marie Fallin.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday March 19, 2014 from 6 until 8 PM at McMullen Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 21, 2014 at 2 PM at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Oldhams, VA with Rev. Michael T. Fallin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1 until 2 pm at the church prior to the service.
