John T. Howe

John T. Howe, 79 John Thomas Howe, 79, a resident of Elkton, passed away on July 17, 2012 at his home. Mr. Howe was born on November 3, 1932 in Dayton, Virginia and was the son of the late John Thomas and Dixie Miller Howe, Sr. He was formerly an auctioneer, carpenter, and police officer in Elkton. He was a member of the Dayton United Methodist Church. Surviving is two children, Kathy Wenger and husband Jerry of Keezletown; N. Wayne Howe of Katanya of Elkton; three step children, Donnie Shifflett and wife Cindy, Debra Shifflett and husband Douglas, Mitch Shifflett and wife Dawn; a brother, Buddy Howe of Hinton; seven step grandchildren; and nine step great grandchildren. Mr. Howe was preceded in death by his former wife, Nancy Mosier Howe; a son Tommy Howe, and companion Frances Marie Shifflett. Reverend Sam Sponaugle will conduct a graveside service on Friday, July 20, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at the Dayton Cemetery.
