Jewel Ritchie

Jewel Marie Miller Ritchie, 75, a resident of Harrisonburg, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026 at VMRC.

Mrs. Ritchie was born on January 5, 1951 in Rockingham County and was a daughter of the late John Henry and Catherine Kramer Miller. Jewel retired as manager from the Subway on Virginia Avenue. She loved children, especially her grandchildren and their friends, sledding and snow days. She was a member of Morning View Mennonite Church

On October 11, 1969, she married Harold R. “Pie” Ritchie who preceded her in death on February 7, 2026.

Surviving are her children, Joseph Wayne Ritchie and wife Misty “Pansy” of Singers Glen, Tanya Martin and husband David of Martinsburg; brother, John Miller and wife Grace of Mt. Crawford; sister-in-law, Donna Miller of NC; foster siblings, David Jordan, Bonnie Hollinger; and grandchildren, Katelyn McCormick, Destiny Ritchie, Michael Martin, Jaiden Ritchie.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Ritchie was preceded in death by a son, Harold Richard “Bubba” Ritchie Jr.; stepfather, William Miller; brother, Harold Miller; and sister, Donna Overton

Pastors Ric Gullman, Raleigh Rhodes and Ed Heatwole will conduct a funeral on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Lindale Mennonite Church. Burial will follow at Lindale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
