Jean S. Reedy, 81, Harrisonburg passed away March 30, 2013 at Oak Lea Nursing Home.
Mrs. Reedy was born on March 3, 1932, in the Bergton area of Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Jesse James and Annie Ruth Smith. She had worked for McCroy's, Good's TV, Watson's and James Madison University. She was a member of the VFW Post 632 Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Reedy was a member of the West Side Baptist Church and attended the Open Door Gospel Church and Victory Fellowship.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Oather Sherman. On December 29, 1971, she married Robert M. Reedy who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Regina Dispanet and husband J.P. of Lost City, West Virginia and a grandson, James Dispanet, Largo, Florida.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Norman Smith and Chester Smith and two sisters, Ogretta Turner and Pauline Halterman.
Reverends Charles P. Anderson, Curtis Hensley and Wendell "Sonny" Henkel will conduct a funeral service Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the East Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from seven until eight at the McMullen Funeral Home, Harrisonburg.
