Jarvis A. Ritchie Obituary (1948 - 2009)

Jarvis A. Ritchie, 61 Harrisonburg Jarvis Allen Ritchie, 61, a resident of 10781 Indian Trail Road, Harrisonburg, died May 6, 2009 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Ritchie was born on April 22, 1948 in Rockingham County and was the son of the late E.P. Ritchie, Jr. and Gatha Ritchie Frank Simmons. Mr. Ritchie retired from his floor sanding business which he owned and operated. He was a member of local car clubs, and honored his country daily with the flying of the United States Flag. He was a member of Mt. Valley United Methodist Church. On September 20, 1968 he married the former Vista Gentry who survives. Surviving are two step-sons, Terry Kline and wife Brenda, Grottoes, Marvin Kline, Harrisonburg; two brothers, Donnie Ritchie and Richard Ritchie, both of Harrisonburg; four grandchildren, Sarah Kline, Justin Kline, Kimi Ritchie, Misty McCray. Mr. Ritchie was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Ritchie and step-son Brian Kline. Reverend Erich Bennett will conduct a funeral service Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Singers Glen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McMullen Funeral Home, Harrisonburg.
