Janet Ford

Janet Virginia Deavers Ford, 73, a resident of McGaheysville, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025 at Sentara RMH Medical Center.

Mrs. Ford was born on January 3, 1952 in Rockingham County and was a daughter of the late Robert Forrest and Londia Viola Mongold Deavers. She worked as a homemaker and loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

On July 4, 1979, she married Dennis Leigh Ford who survives.

Also surviving are her children, David Ray Mitchell and wife Melanie of Tennessee, Londia Renee Bowers of Harrisonburg; siblings, Robert Deavers and wife Mary, Peggy Hess; grandchildren, Taylor Bowers, Hailey Brittingham, Trinity Berry, Londia Shiflet, Corey Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Alex Brittingham, Abigail Brittingham, Allison Brittingham, Desmond Berry; her cat, “Charlie”, and her dog, “Mindy”.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ford was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Deavers; and brother-in-law, Ernie Hess.

Following a cremation, a graveside service will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Cooks Creek Cemetery.
