James "Johnny" E. Knight, Jr. Obituary (1932 - 2014)

James "Johnny" Elbern Knight, Jr., 81 James "Johnny" Elbern Knight, Jr., 81, a resident of Harrisonburg, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014 at his home. Mr. Knight was born on April 24, 1932 in Rockingham County and was the son of the late James E. and Margaret Catherine McDorman Knight, Sr. He was employed at Wampler Foods for 49 years and later Rocco Foods for 10 years. He enjoyed going to yard sales. He was a member of Victory Temple. On April 5, 1953, he married the former Velma Louise Runion who survives. Also surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Phyllis Eutsler and companion Mel Campbell of Harrisonburg; Gregory Knight and wife Cindy of Grottoes; Donald Knight and wife Penny of Harrisonburg; a sister Doris Obaugh of Rawley Springs; nine grandchildren, Tammie Kelley and husband Eddie, Natasha Hottinger and husband Leroy, Bradley Flynn, Jonathan Knight and wife Aryn; Josh Knight and wife Rebecca, Megan Crawford and husband Shayne; Stacey Robey and husband Kenny, Tracie Thomas and husband Dane, Tara Greene; sixteen great grandchildren. Mr. Knight was preceded in death by his daughter, Doris Flynn and a brother-in-law, David Obaugh. Reverend Arnold Repass and Evangelist Larry Danner will conduct a funeral service on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Clinton Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to McMullen Funeral Home, 5784 Greenmount Road, Harrisonburg, Virginia 22802 to help offset burial expenses.
