Harold Myers Ritchie Obituary (1950 - 2009)

Harold Myers Ritchie, 59 Harrisonburg Harold Myers Ritchie, 59, a resident of 5762 Mount Clinton Pike, Harrisonburg died December 29, 2009 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Ritchie was born on March 20, 1950 in Rockingham County and was the son of the late Ernest and Nellie Myers Ritchie. He spent his life in the community and loved working as a beef and poultry farmer and also enjoyed doing custom work for many other farmers in the area. Mr. Ritchie also enjoyed tractor pull competitions. He was a member of the Mount Clinton United Methodist Church. On June 10, 1973, he married the former Nanette Burner who survives. Also surviving is a son, Adam Ritchie and wife Vanessa, Harrisonburg; two sisters, Shelvie Carr and Margaret Ann Kiser both of Harrisonburg; two granddaughters, Malaina Ritchie and Kayla Ritchie. He was also loved by many aunts, uncles, nieces nephews and in-laws. Wendell ?Sonny? Henkel and Rev. Jack L. Schooler will conduct a funeral service Saturday morning at 10:30a.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Horeb Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
