Guy Miley

Guy Miley, 89 Guy Miley, 89, a resident of Harrisonburg, died Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Harrisonburg Health and Rehab with his family by his side. Mr. Miley was born on January 1, 1922 In Onego, West Virginia and was the son of the late Walter and Effie Vance Miley. He managed the family poultry farm following the death of his father in 1945 for many years and he was a member of the Dale Enterprise Fast Pitch Softball team. He was a member of Harrisonburg Mennonite Church. On March 17, 1979 he married the former Christine Cline Heatwole who survives. Also surviving are two step-sons, Wayne Eugene Heatwole and wife Carole of Harrisonburg, Gary Wilson Heatwole of Ormond Beach, Florida; one sister, Ethel Bentch of Harrisonburg, three brothers, Dale Miley and wife Nan of Edgewater Maryland, Gar Miley and wife Peggy of Harrisonburg, Richard Miley of Roanoke; five step grandchildren, three step great grandchildren; and a number of nieces of nephews. Mr. Miley was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Kanagy. Pastors Mark Keller and Jim Grogan will conduct a funeral service on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the McMullen Funeral Home at anytime or at the Miley residence at anytime.
