Goldie A. Spitzer Obituary (1926 - 2010)

Goldie A. Spitzer, 84 Golide Arbutus Spitzer, 84, a resident of Harrisonburg, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at her home. Ms. Spitzer was born on January 23, 1926 in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Homer and Blanche Dove. She was formerly employed at the K-Mart food court, and greatly loved and appreciated animals. She was a member of Word Ministries. In 1960, she married Garnette Spitzer who died in October of 2009. Surviving is a special niece, Sandy Obaugh, and special friend, Joyce Byrd; a sister in law, Violet Dove and a number of nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her family. Reverend Laney Knight and David Kite will conduct a funeral service on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
