Glen "Kack" Elwood Stroop Obituary (1936 - 2015)

Glen E. Stroop, 78 Singers Glen Glen "Kack" Elwood Stroop, 78, Singers Glen passed away January 21, 2015 at his home. Mr. Stroop was born on May 2, 1936, in Rockingham County and was the son of the late Lewis and Gertie Fulk Stroop. He worked for Ruddle and Swank Orchard for 37 years and later for Granville Hasler Farms for 14 years before retiring. He enjoyed old cars, tractors, working on lawn mowers and hauling scrap metal. On October 14, 1957, he married Willodene E. Stoop who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Linda Elaine Stroop and companion Carroll Blosser of Harrisonburg; a son, Ricky Lee Stroop and wife Judith of Singers Glen; two brothers, Clarence Stroop and Roy Stroop; four sisters, Rachel Whetzel and husband Don, Shirley Keister and husband Glen, Donna Cubbage and husband Kenny, Ruby Patterson and husband Gary, two granddaughters, Amy Umbel and April Diehl; two great grandchildren Madison Umbel and Izaya Elmore. Mr. Stroop was preceded in death by one brother, Lewis, Jr. and two sisters, Mabel Whetzel and Frances Hill and four half brothers and one half sister. A funeral service will be held on Sunday afternoon, January 25, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at McMullen Funeral Home with Reverend Don Guthrie officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Friends may also call anytime at the funeral home beginning Friday.
