Fritz Maurice Ritchie Obituary (1932

Fritz Maurice Ritchie, 85, of Singers Glen, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the Sentara RMH Medical Center. Mr. Ritchie was born on December 13, 1932 in Peru, WV and was a son of the late William Franklin and Maggie Elizabeth (Cleaver) Ritchie. Fritz worked as a tree trimmer for many years prior to his retirement. He also worked in construction and as a poultry catcher. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He married the former Hazel Campbell who preceded him in death in 1995. Fritz is survived by his sister, Evelyn Dove and husband Allen M. of Singers Glen; five children, several grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Ritchie was preceded in death by his siblings, William Ritchie, Velma Ritchie Bobo, Viola Pennington, Wilbert Ritchie, Verda Sine, Paul "Russell" Ritchie, Mabel Turner, Ray Ritchie and Ralph Ritchie. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 10 AM at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Glovier officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at the Leakesville Cemetery near Luray. The family will receive friends on Monday from 9 until 10 am prior to the service at the funeral home.
