Fern Anne Dove

Fern Anne Summers Dove, 81, a resident of Singers Glen, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Brookedale Assisted Living.

Mrs. Dove was born on March 24, 1934 in Harrisonburg and was the daughter of the late James Edward and Ruby Fern (Ralston) Summers. Fern was a long time member of Donovan Memorial United Methodist Church in Singers Glen, and was also a proud member of the NRA. She drove a school bus for more than 20 years and also worked on the family farm. Mrs. Dove enjoyed gardening, square dancing, cooking, and was an avid coin collector. She was also very active in Home Demonstration, now called Extension HomeMakers.

On January 11, 1952, she married Charles William "Bill" Dove who preceded her in death on February 4, 2015.

Surviving are four children, William Edward "Billy" Dove and wife Diane Landauer of North Garden, Va.; Karen Annette Billhimer and husband Gale of Singers Glen; Diane Marie Morris of Singers Glen; and Vickie Sue Ahles and husband Rick of Dayton; a sister, Audrey Beierle of Harrisonburg; seven grandchildren, John Dove, Aaron Billhimer, C. Wayne Billhimer, Jason Morris, Justin Billhimer, Michele Schweigert, Tracie Ahles; ten great grandchildren, Jared, Nathan, David and Brian Billhimer; William and Jacob Morris; Stephanie and Madelyn Schweigert and Jayden and Christian Life.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Dove was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Courtney
Ahles.

Revered Ed Wilkins will conduct a funeral service on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at Donovan Memorial United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Singers Glen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
