Elizabeth "Betty" Glick Obituary (1938 - 2014)

Elizabeth Frances "Betty" (Wilfong) Glick, 75, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Wednesday April 9, 2014 at her residence. Mrs. Glick was born on April 26, 1938 in Rockingham County and was a daughter of the late Herbert and Lena (Smith) Wilfong. Betty graduated from Bridgewater High School in 1956 as part of the last graduating class. She retired from Turner Ashby High School in 1999 where she worked as a secretary for many years. Mrs. Glick was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. She enjoyed selling tickets to sporting events at Turner Ashby for many years, and family sister get-togethers. Mrs. Glick was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. On September 25, 1959 she married Joseph S. "Joe" Glick who preceded her in death on March 23, 2014. Mrs. Glick is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Soteriou and husband Michael of Springfield, VA, Tammy Propst and husband Mitch of Harrisonburg, Karen Kennedy and husband Tony of Harrisonburg; six sisters, Loretta Simmers of Mt. Crawford, Dottie Custer of Harrisonburg, Sue Boone of Harrisonburg, Jane Beach of Harrisonburg, Debbie Custer of Clover Hill, Cyndi Smith of Bridgewater; five grandchildren, Tara Kennedy, Victoria Propst, Mitchell Propst, Jr., Neoclis Soteriou, Maria Soteriou; and one great-granddaughter, Kaila Breeden; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 11:00 AM at First Assembly of God, 1310 Erickson Avenue, Harrisonburg with Rev. Valerie Ritter officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 5 until 7 pm at McMullen Funeral Home.
