Edward F. Leyh Iv Obituary (1942

Edward (Ward) F. Leyh IV Harrisonburg Edward (Ward) F. Leyth IV, 68, died Monday May 10, 2010 at his home. Ward was born on April 1, 1942, in Baltimore Maryland and was the son of the late Edward F. and Frances Carson Leyh III. Ward had lived in Singers Glen as a younger man and moved to Pleasant View Inc.?s Lee High Residence in 1988. Most recently he had lived in his own apartment within PV, Inc.?s Community Support Services program of which he was very proud. Ward was an original member of the Linville-Edom Workshop which later became Friendship Industries. Ward worked at Hardee?s in Harrisonburg for 11 years. He was active in Special Olympics and participated in track, basketball, volleyball, swimming and bowling and earned many medals over the years. He was also active in the community and volunteered at Mill Creek Church and helped with Meals on Wheels. Ward also was a member of Pleasant View?s choir for many years and enjoyed all the activities he participated in. He has also been a past member of the Ruritans. He regularly attended Ridgeway Mennonite Church and counted many of the members as friends. Ward was a very social person; he enjoyed meeting new people and once stated he never met a stranger. He is survived by his aunt Genevieve Stout, Murphy, NC. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 14, 2010 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens at 2:00p.m. A memorial service will be held at Ridgeway Mennonite Church Friday, at 3:00p.m. Friends may call at the McMullen Funeral Home, Harrisonburg at any time.
