Douglas Arthur "Doug" Wheeler Obituary (1948 - 2018)

Douglas Arthur "Doug" Wheeler, 70, of Bridgewater, passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Wheeler was born on April 26, 1948 in Syracuse, New York and was the son of the late Paul Christopher and Lottie Irene Deland Wheeler. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Korea. He was an electrician. On November 18, 2006, he married Karen Jean Wheeler who survives. Also surviving are three children, Christopher Wheeler and wife Christine of Pompey, NY, Robert Wheeler and wife Sylvette, Florida, Douglas Wheeler of Fabius, NY; two step children, Stephanie Koogler and husband Jared, Singers Glen, Mark Simmers and wife Mandi, Harrisonburg; one sister, Bernice Seamans, Fabius, NY; two brothers, Tom Wheeler and wife Scarlett, Fabius, NY and Phil Wheeler and wife Delores, Syracuse, NY; five grandchildren, Haley, Cody, Faith, James and MaKayla Wheeler; two great grandchildren, Conner and Bradly Shull; two step grandchildren, Jaxon and Mason Koogler; and his beloved dog "Bo". Preceded in death by a sister Iva Mae French, two brothers, Paul Christopher Wheeler and Ron Wheeler. A memorial service will be held on Friday Evening, September 7, 2018 at 6:30 PM at the McMullen Funeral Home with Rev. Marlene Chandler officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:30 until 6:30 prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately and at a later date.
