Doris Evelyn Wright Crowder, 88, passed away April 12, 2018 at Avante Nursing Home. Ms. Crowder was born on September 11, 1929 in Roanoke Rapids, NC. She was the daughter of the late John Henry and Flossie Ola Harris Wright. Doris loved to cook and worked L&S Diner, Stuckey's and at Wendy's. Surviving are two daughters, Kathy (John) Porter, Michigan; Karen (Robert) Foley, Rockingham, a sister, Norraine Cleary, New Hampshire, nine grandchildren, Betsy (Mike) Reyes, Angela (Greg) Bridges, Paula Lam, Scott (Chelsea) Foley, Valerie (Reggie) Clem-Brown, Jessica Clem, Michael Foley, Megan (Sam) Ruddock, Alex Tuck, eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Pastors Dale Goodwin and Jon Prater will conduct a funeral service Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may begin calling at the funeral home Tuesday.
