Doretta Oswald Obituary (1924 - 2012)

Doretta M. Oswald, 88 Doretta Miller Oswald, 88, a resident of Oak Lea Nursing Home, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2012. Mrs. Oswald was born on March 23, 1924 in Strang, Nebraska and was the daughter of the late Jess and Katie Schweitzer Miller. She was a member of Park View Mennonite Church. On February 17, 1946, she married Leland Oswald who preceded her in death on October 13, 2008. Surviving are three children, Joan Kulp and husband Jim of Middletown, Virginia; Jane Yoder and husband Dave of Landisville, PA; Donald Oswald and wife Jean of Richmond, Virginia; a brother, Lloyd Miller and wife Mary of Glendale, AZ; six grandchildren, Emily Oswald, Peter Oswald, Ben Yoder and his wife Anita Hooley-Yoder, Matthew Yoder, Christina Kulp, Carlin Kulp. Mrs. Oswald was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Schiffler and Ruth Eichelberger. Pastor Shirlee K. Yoder will conduct a memorial service at the Strite Auditorium at the Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be held privately. Friends may also call at the McMullen funeral home during the day Friday.
