Daniel Martin

Daniel Harold Martin, 78, of Harrisonburg, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 10, 2026, surrounded by his wife, Ruth Ann, and their two children, Jonathan and Nicole.

Dan was born on October 7, 1947, in Hagerstown, Maryland, to the late Harold Leroy Martin and Ellen Mae Risser Martin.

Dan married Ruth Ann Brenneman on September 23, 1972. They met while volunteering with Mennonite Central Committee in Haiti.

Dan earned a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Mennonite University and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1975. He enjoyed assisting his clients and devoted many years to his work at Martin, Beachy & Arehart. Later in life, he discovered a love of golf, which he enjoyed with friends and family.

In addition to his wife, Ruth Ann, Dan is survived by son, Jonathan Martin and wife, Kate Mehr; daughter, Nicole Stark and husband, Zac; and his grandchildren, Sarah Martin, Emily Martin, Wyatt Stark, and Madalyn Stark.

In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his brother, Jason.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Harrisonburg Mennonite Church.

A memorial service celebrating Dan’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Harrisonburg Mennonite Church. A private burial will take place at Weavers Mennonite Cemetery.
