Connie V. Jones, 61

Connie Vivian Jones, 61, a resident of Linville, went to be with the Lord on April 18, 2013 in the presence of her loving family.
Mrs. Jones was born on September 29, 1951 in Fort Lee, Virginia and was the daughter of Edith Adell Francis Frye of New Market and the late Lucius Carlisle Frye. She attended the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind and was a graduate of Broadway High School Class of 1971. She was very proud of her husband and children and she loved watching her children play sports. She loved the Lord and was a member of Smith Creek Regular Baptist Church in New Market. Connie loved anyone who helped her communicate though sign language especially those at her church.
On November 26, 1983, she married Charles Samuel Jones who survives. They often reminisced about their first date to Wild Wood in Bridgewater, Virginia.
Also surviving are three children, Joseph A. Jones and wife Anna of Enosburg, Falls, Vermont; Anna M. Shifflett and husband Canaan of Dayton, Virginia; Carolyn J. Housley and husband John of Annandale, Virginia; three step-children, Jenni R. Osborne and husband Tim of Seabeck, Washington; Tod H. Jones and wife Barbara of Harrisonburg; James A. Jones of Canton, Ohio; a sister, Susan Gerardo-Stewart of Timberville; a brother, Dr. Sam Frye and wife Debbie of Williamsburg; five step- grandchildren, Dakota Osborne, Sierra Osborne, Samantha Jones, James A. Jones, Jr., Allison Jones; nieces and nephews, Samantha Frye, Aaron Frye, Thomas Cassidy, and Ruth Jones.
Dr. Sam Frye and Pastor Brent Hockema will conduct a funeral service on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
