Collin Curtis "Toddy" Carr Obituary (1946 - 2014)

Collin Curtis "Toddy" Carr, 68 Collin Curtis "Toddy" Carr, 68, a resident of Harrisonburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at his home. Mr. Carr was born on January 9, 1946 in Fulks Run, and was the son of the late Robert Singleton Dodd Carr and Thelma Ruth Reedy Carr. He was a member of the United States Navy. He was a skilled wood crafter who loved the outdoors and his grandson. He attended Greenmount Church of the Brethren where he did outside maintenance. On December 2, 1973, he married the former Pauline E. Dean who survives. Also surviving is his daughter, Tanna Lynn Holland and husband Ethan of Harrisonburg; three sisters, Sharon Carr of Harrisonburg; Janalee Tutwiler of Mt. Crawford; Maxine Charlton of Broadway; and a grandson, Conner D. Holland. In addition to his parents, Mr. Carr was preceded in death by two sisters, Violet Jean Smith, Amelia Michael and two brothers, Robert Sonny Carr, Jr. and Winston D. Carr. Pastor Ken Dolan will conduct a funeral service at Greenmount Church of the Brethren on Friday afternoon, December 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the graveside in the Greenmount Church of the Brethren social hall where a meal will be served. Friends may also call at the funeral home at any time.
