Clayton Ray Maust Obituary (1930

Clayton Ray Maust, 88 Clayton Ray Maust, 88, a resident of Harrisonburg, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018. Mr. Maust was born on February 27, 1930 in Bayport, Michigan and was the son of the late Richard and Elizabeth Gunden Maust. He was a retired bus driver, and enjoyed driving for both EMU and JMU Universities. He was a member of the Rockingham Male Chorus and Weavers Mennonite Church. On April 20, 1951, he married the former Berniece Albecht, who passed away on January 7, 1987. On January 14, 1989, he married the former Thelma H. Martin Hershberger of Harrisonburg, who survives. Also surviving in addition to his wife is his children, Cherie Yoder and husband Larry of Athens, Michigan, Jerry Maust and wife Tammy of Pigeon, Michigan, Lynette Yoder and husband Darrel of Bay Port, Michigan, Debbie Graber and husband Barry of Kalona, Iowa, Lori Beachy and husband Lester of Kokomo, Indiana; twenty-seven grandchildren; fifty great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by several brothers and sisters-in-laws. He is also survived by Thelma's family including her two children, Leon Hershberger and wife Marge, Evie Showalter and husband Myron Showalter; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Maust was also preceded in death by four brothers, four sisters and a granddaughter, Katie Yoder. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at Strite Auditorium at the Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community.
