Catherine "Snookie" Thomas Obituary (1932 - 2014)

Catherine Ann "Snookie" Thomas Harrisonburg Catherine Ann "Snookie" Thomas, 82, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Wednesday May 14, 2014 at Sunnyside Nursing Home. Mrs. Thomas was born on March 11, 1932 in Harrisonburg, and was a daughter of the late Virgil R. and Minnie V. (Jameson) Blosser. Snookie worked for the Farm Bureau, IMCO/Brockway, and most recently Metro Pants. She was also an avid bowler with the "Valley Belles". Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Harrisonburg High School class of 1950. Catherine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many who will greatly miss her. On May 2, 1948 she married Edward Lee "Eddie" Thomas who survives. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Thomas is survived by four children, Dusty Thomas and special friend Linda Ryan of Harrisonburg, Becky May and husband Bill of Harrisonburg, Julie Howdyshell and husband Douglas of Bridgewater, Tommy Thomas and wife Lisa of Harrisonburg; two sisters, Loretta Moyers of Harrisonburg, Diane Helmick of Harrisonburg; seven grandchildren, Kelly May Brown, Jenny Yates, Cara Valentine, Tyler Thomas, Shea Thomas, Avenlea Thomas, Jadin Thomas; and a great-granddaughter, Annalise Valentine. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Thomas. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 7 PM at Briery Branch Church of the Brethren with Pastor Randy Cosner and Reverend Paul O'Gorek officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
